Description:
Women's Bible study about James and some Church History.
Tuesday November 3.
We hope to have our 5th Bible Study evening and focus on James 2: 14-26.
Our topic is: Faith and Deeds. A really serious analysis of the direction in our life. If we do not show the change that the Holy Spirit wants to work in us, we are spiritually dead. We hope to share in the goodness of the Lord, Who gives all of us individual gifts to share in the treasures of His Kingdom and build each other up.
We study Chapter 5 of the booklet written by Mylinda Hoeksema.
The last 20 minutes will be filled with the history of John Wycliffe (1324-1384) who was an early forerunner of the Reformation. He is called: The Morning Star.
It is amazing to learn how much suffering he had to go through to help the church see that we are saved by Grace and not by our own deeds. Forty years after his death his bones were dug up and burnt to ashes. That showed how great the enmity was against the new discovered Gospel.
This evening we think deeper about saving grace and the deeds that the Lord works in us to thank Him for our Saviour.
We hope to start 1t 7:15 and end at 8:45
All are very welcome!
