Awake is a Men's Bible study meeting roughly every other Saturday from October to April. Men of all ages are welcome for breakfast, fellowship and study of God's Word. We meet at 7:00 am for breakfast in the church fellowship hall and then move to the lounge by 7:30 for a video and discussion relevant to our Christian walk. Our goal is to get your back to your Saturday responsibilities by 8:30 am.
On October 19 we will begin a 5 part video teaching series called "The Great Commission" by Dr. Burk Parsons of Ligonier Ministries. "Our Lord Jesus Christ gave His people the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations. This is a significant task, yet it is one that the Holy Spirit enables us to accomplish as we rest in the authority of Christ over all things. In this series, Dr. Burk Parsons walks us through every phrase of the Great Commission, carefully examining how Christ calls us to fulfill the Great Commission in our homes, our churches, our communities, and to the ends of the earth."
Our first lesson is "They Worshiped Him: The Great Commission is given in the context of worship. When Jesus’ followers encountered Him after the resurrection, they fell down and worshiped Him, and He commissioned them to fulfill His mission in making disciples and taking the gospel to the ends of the earth. In this lesson, Dr. Parsons introduces the Great Commission by looking at the reason why God created us: that He might be worshiped."
